I work from an Integrative perspective, combining Psychodynamic Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Hypnotherapy. I use my skills as a counsellor and hypnotherapist to help clients facilitate change in their lives. My experience includes working privately and in the NHS with issues such as low self-esteem, lack of confidence, anxiety, stress management, panic attacks, depression, changing unwanted habits (over eating, excessive drinking, smoking, etc), as well as working through difficult childhood experiences or present ongoing difficulties which can impact on our emotional well being. I work by supporting, empathizing, empowering and sensitively challenging individuals to find their solution and to move forward into a brighter future. I help my clients to see the link between their past and present, gaining insight to the origin of the problem, usually from earlier childhood experiences. Understanding why we feel the way we do, and seeing patterns in our lives, can be crucial in changing our current state of mind. Unexpressed emotions; such as grief, anger, fear or sadness can be expressed and understood in a caring, supportive and non-judgemental environment. This can help to make sense of unresolved feelings which might have been confusing, overwhelming and seemingly out of context, helping to see things more clearly. There might be aspects of learnt behaviour and ways of seeing things that needs to be addressed. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is about looking at those patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving, working on them to become more positive, constructive and realistic. Based on our past experiences we may have unhelpful habitual ways of thinking and dealing with emotions, causing stress, anxiety, depression or low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Learning to identify these patterns gives us the power to challenge them and ultimately begin to change them. Hypnotherapy is a very relaxing experience in itself and when we become very relaxed we see things much clearer, but hypnotherapy is more than relaxation, it reaches us on a deep emotional level where we can influence ourselves positively. Hypnotherapy can give us that extra boost we sometimes need to act in a different manner, become more confident, reduce anxiety, fear and depression, make those changes, etc. Hypnotherapy is about changing our beliefs on a deeper subconscious level, using our imagination to help grow positive feelings and making them stronger and more powerful. All these are useful and helpful ways of dealing with a range of different problems. I provide a safe and confidential space to explore and speak about issues, offering professional support and guidance. Ultimately, it’s about helping you help yourself. I am always happy to speak to prospective clients on the phone or via email to answer any questions regarding counselling and hypnotherapy. I currently practise at: APS Psychotherapy & Counselling Cost £60.00 per session for 50 minutes and London East Therapy Rooms Cost £70 per session for 50 minutes and
