I use my skills as a counsellor and hypnotherapist to help clients facilitate change in their lives. My experience includes working privately and in the NHS with issues such as low self-esteem, lack of confidence, anxiety, stress management, panic attacks, depression, changing unwanted habits (over eating, excessive drinking, smoking, etc), as well as working through difficult childhood experiences or present ongoing difficulties which can impact on our emotional well being. I work by supporting, empathizing, empowering and sensitively challenging individuals to find their solution and to move forward into a brighter future.

I believe everyone can help themselves and transform their lives by getting in touch with who they really are; removing the anxiety, fear and sadness that prevents us from being and expressing ourselves. This is ultimately my aim as a therapist. Self-reflection, self-knowledge and insight is the first step to begin that change, as well as learning new ways of dealing with difficult feelings and events. As a result, becoming more confident in facing lives issues and more able to deal with situations which previously seemed overwhelming.

We all live such busy lives and it is sometimes difficult to find that quiet time to sit down and "just be", but I think most people hugely underestimate the power of relaxation and the positive effects it has on pretty much every area of our lives. I teach all my clients relaxation exercises and give CD's to listen to at home as part of the therapy and they all report reduction in stress, being more clear-minded, relaxed and happier.

Hypnotherapy is a very relaxing experience in itself and when we become very relaxed we see things much clearer, but hypnotherapy is more than relaxation, it reaches us on a deep emotional level where we can influence ourselves positively. Hypnotherapy can give us that extra boost we sometimes need to act in a different manner, become more confident, reduce anxiety, fear and depression, make those changes, etc, etc. We are ultimately the captain of our own ship and if we decide to take control of ourselves and our emotions, we can achieve great results. I have seen this happen with numerous people, who all came with very little hope and lacking in self-belief but managed to turn things around.

I am inspired by the people I work with every day and I become more and more convinced that everyone has the solutions to their problems, it's just that sometimes we have forgotten where to look.
